Marketing, Branding & Creativity

Let's get to know each other better!
I’m a mum to two very energetic and imaginative young boys, and together with my partner we all call Hampshire home.

I have had what can best be described as a ‘colourful’ career history. I never really knew what I wanted to do.

I started working in law and became a paralegal, but very quickly…about 8 years later! Realised that I was not being true to myself and I desperately needed to add a creative element to my work. I changed direction and started working in marketing and events which I found was the perfect blend of business and creativity.
Then something happened….I was working in events management at a luxury hotel when I picked up the local college prospectus because I fancied trying something new and I stumbled across floristry.

This was the start of my next chapter…one I like to call my ‘Floral Sabbatical’. I started working odd Saturdays at a floristry shop in Somerset when I didn't have events to cover and after a few weeks realised I was always looking forward to Saturdays. So after chatting with the owner of the shop, they offered me a part-time role. I went to college two days a week to do my Level 2 Floristry course and then I supplemented my income working in a village pub a few nights a week and I handed in my notice at the hotel.
After gaining my Level 2 and Level 3 floristry certificates and changing shops to a more senior role, a house move provided the opportunity to start my own business. I ran a successful wedding and event floristry studio in Wiltshire and taught classes and workshops, as well as fulfilling several corporate contracts and an online shop. I grew quickly from 13 weddings in my first year to 64 in my second! It was very busy and I have the biggest thanks (that will never really cover it) to my mum for her support!

It was due to the ongoing work/life balance struggle that I eventually took the extremely difficult decision to stop. I closed my doors and went back to my love of marketing once again, a career I continue to adore. I have worked in marketing roles for over 17 years in industries including education, visual merchandising, shopfitting, construction, hospitality, financial services, media, and SaaS, as well as my time in floristry and retail.

I continue to love flowers and you will always find a small vase on my desk.

The Right Tribe has given me the perfect opportunity to balance my passion for marketing and business with creativity and education.
